Hospital trustee clears up conflict of interest concerns

COEUR d’ALENE — The Press has confirmed that Cindy Clark, a recently elected member of Kootenai Health’s board of trustees, has left her position at MultiCare Clinic in Liberty Lake.

The move came after a debate emerged over Clark’s perceived conflict of interest between the two health care providers. Because she worked for a direct competitor of Kootenai Health, Clark was precluded from hearing or participating in important discussions by the KH board of trustees. That barrier now has been removed, as Clark is employed as a registered nurse at Hospice of North Idaho.

Neither Clark nor Kootenai Health responded to multiple requests for comment.
