- Karen McGee, former president of the Idaho State Board of Education, joined the board of the Coalition of Idaho Charter School Families, which consists of over 4,000 parents, grandparents and advocates for school choice. It is a non-profit organization that works to expand student opportunities in the state and continues to grow in support and influence as parent advocates inform lawmakers of the importance of public school options.

- The Inland Northwest Country Music Association is bringing the music of country greats like Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson alive with the Highwaymen Tribute Show. Featuring performances by Rusty Jackson, Bobby Bremer and Joey Anderson. Showtime is 6 p.m. on Oct. 19 at the Lake City Center. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at Eventbrite.com.

- Save the date: Leaf Fest 2019 begins on Tuesday, Nov. 12. The annual leaf pick-up program asks homeowners to keep all leaves on your property until Friday, Nov. 1. After that you may rake leaves and pine needles into the street, leaving a 1 foot space for drainage at the curb. Bagged and large debris like branches will not be accepted.
