Fish and Game seeks comments on diverters
Fish and Game wants trappers to comment on possible regulation changes in the wolf trapping rules. Proposed changes could end the use of diverters for wolf snares, but all wolf snares would need both a breakaway device and a cable stop within the loop of the snare. Current rules require either a breakaway device or a cable stop plus diverters.
The proposed rule change would end statewide use of diverters, but it would allow the Fish and Game Commission to consider the mechanisms in specific areas based on levels of incidental catch.
Written comments regarding the proposal should be emailed or delivered on or before Oct. 23 to Paul Kline, Deputy Director, Idaho Department of Fish and Game, P.O. Box 25 Boise, ID 83707; Fax: 208-334-4885; Email: rules@idfg.idaho.gov.
