Yvonne Smith, 71

Yvonne Smith passed away on Sept. 21, 2019, with her family and close friend by her side. Born July 16, 1948, to Bob and Audrey Hamilton, of Post Falls, Idaho, Yvonne grew up in Post Falls and graduated from Post Falls High School.

She was very generous and was always willing to help out anyone who needed it. Her lifelong passion was genealogy. Her hobbies included calligraphy, playing cards, bingo and interior design. In her early years, Yvonne loved to cruise Sherman Avenue in her 1950s baby blue Ford.

She enjoyed her job at the DMV for 25 years, which she retired from. She was an adventurous woman who loved to go out for drives and fishing. Yvonne ran for Hayden City Mayor in the 1980s. During her married years, they loved to go on their yearly deep sea fishing trips.

Yvonne was loved by her family and many friends who preceded her in death. She leaves behind her son, Richard Smith and his spouse, Laurie Smith; a daughter, Tonya Pereira and her spouse, Daniel Pereira; and her grandchildren, Kayla Smith, Brynna Smith, Alyssa Pereira and Skyler Pereira; her sister, Linda Lebeck; an aunt, Bonnie Willoughby and her husband, Bill Willoughby; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members; as well as lifelong friends, Linda Brown and Pam Leonard.

A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 15151 N. Meyer Road, Rathdrum, ID 83858. Everyone is welcome to attend.
