PIGEON: Should be our national bird

| October 2, 2019 1:00 AM

Poetic justice was deposited on the head of a Democratic state representative in Chicago. The Chicago Transit Authority Irving Park Blue Line station is known locally as the “pigeon poop station.” As Rep. Jaime Andrade was discussing the unsanitary conditions with a reporter, a pigeon let go on the top of his head. Who knew a bird could be so discerning and patriotic?

I move that the pigeon and any other bird so inclined be immediately transferred to the target-rich environment of Washington, D.C. With more than 200 screwball, socialist, near communist congressmen and congresswomen, and around 48 senators, justice could be served. Any bird hitting its target should be entered into a hall of fame and awarded a lifetime supply of bird seed. Should the birds run out of targets then they can bomb professional athletes who dishonor the flag and anyone who tries to stomp on it at a World Cup soccer championship ceremony.

I just watched a documentary of the battle of Iwo Jima and the boys of H Company, 28th Marines. Two hundred-forty Marines and six Navy Corpsmen went ashore and 36 days later, fewer than 40 walked down to the beach to leave the island, and many of them had been wounded. I wouldn’t walk across the street to pee on those who dishonor the American Flag.
