- Gary Eller will perform “Strong Women of Early Idaho” at the Athol library this evening at 5 and at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Rathdrum Library. Listen to humorous songs and stories about Idaho historical women, including local mine owner May Arkwright Hutton, Banjo Nell, and horse rancher Kitty Wilkins. There is no cost to attend.

- The Coeur d’Alene Tribe has named Laura Stensgar acting director of the Coeur d’Alene Casino following Francis SiJohn’s resignation as CEO early this week. SiJohn resigned for personal reasons, citing a desire to spend time with family. He has been CEO since September 2016. Stensgar has served in a number of leadership roles at the Coeur d’Alene Casino, most recently as the director of marketing, and will serve as acting director until a permanent CEO is hired.

- The Human Library is happening from 1-4 p.m. on Oct. 12, at the Human Rights Education Institute, 414 W. Fort Ground Drive. Everyone has a story to tell, and this project is a way to open minds and challenge stereotypes through dialogue. Some of the topics to learn from the “books” are “Life in a Wheelchair,” “Atheist,” “Growing Up New Mexican” and “A Sober Woman,” to name a few. There is no cost to attend.
