PRESS: Biased headline alert

| November 29, 2019 12:00 AM

I’ve been carefully monitoring the World Nation Section of The Press on page A3. Every article seems to have misleading titles such as “Trump directed Ukraine quid pro quo; key witness says;” Gorden Sondland “Everyone was in the loop.” These titles are designed to prejudice the readers toward President Trump’s guilt if they don’t read the entire article.

Buried deep somewhere in every article is the actual truth revealed. In paragraph 3 of the Ukraine quid pro quo article, Ambassador Sondland conceded that Trump never told him directly. Sondland admitted he never had any firsthand knowledge of a “Quid Pro Quo” from anyone in both articles. These misleading head titles just lend credence to the belief that the news media is collectively anti-Trump and can’t be trusted. Why not print the truth in the title such as, “Ambassador Sondland admits no knowledge of quid pro quo.” Rather than parroting these obviously misleading titles, why not try regaining some credibility?
