- An article Wednesday declaring Alex Barron’s candidacy for Idaho Senate District 3 included some confusing information.

The story said current Sen. Don Cheatham is retiring — but he isn’t quitting.

Cheatham will continue to serve out his term through the 2020 session. He just isn’t seeking re-election next year.

- $12,000 was recently raised and awarded to Family Promise of North Idaho from Dan and Kathryn Pinkerton’s event, “Romantic Night at the Museum,” held at the Idaho Wildlife Museum in Riverstone. To ensure all proceeds go toward the nonprofit, the Pinkertons, of Pinkerton Retirement Specialists, LLC, donated the four-course dinner, entertainment and the reservation phone lines.

- Post Falls School District 273 has started the search for a new superintendent, which began with a survey of staff and community members to help guide the board of trustees. Those who are interested can submit applications by Dec. 31, at www.applitrack.com/pfsd/onlineapp Applications will be reviewed starting Jan. 2, with interviews tentatively set for the end of January.
