Red Box manager faces two lewd conduct charges
The regional manager of Red Box faces two felony counts of lewd conduct with minors in Coeur d’Alene’s First District Court.
Jason A. Himes of Post Falls is accused by Post Falls police of molesting children between 2009 and 2017, according to police reports.
Himes was arrested last week and posted a $50,000 bail Wednesday. His next court appearance is Friday, when he and his attorneys will decide if they are prepared for a probable cause hearing that is scheduled next week.
Himes, 43, is accused of molesting children whose ages were between 8 and 16 at the time of the alleged sexual acts.
In addition, Post Falls police said Himes is under investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children task force. The task force, part of the attorney general’s office, tracks people who engage in the manufacture or conveyance of child pornography.
According to police reports, Himes is alleged to have engaged in sexual activity with children while he lived in Oregon before moving to Idaho several years ago, and while living at his Post Falls residence.
At last week’s first appearance before Senior Judge Robert Burton in Coeur d’Alene, prosecutors asked that bail be set at $150,000, but Himes’ attorney, Craig Zanetti, reiterated that his client grew up in Spokane, attended North Idaho College and is employed as the manager of Red Box, the automated retail company that rents movies through vending machines.
Burton issued a no-contact order that prohibits Himes from coming within 500 feet of any of the alleged victims.
