On Saturday the Thorns played Reign Academy Pre-Academy in Tukwila, Wash., and tied 3-3. Allison Carrico, Ella Pearson, and Isabella Grimmett each had one goal for the Thorns. CROSS COUNTRY

North Idaho XC: North Idaho XC made an impressive show while hosting the USATF Inland Northwest Association Junior Olympic XC Championship on Saturday.

Teams from Spokane, the Tri-Cities, Yakima and North Idaho battled over a wet and curvy course that made use of every inch of incline on the Lake City High School grounds in Coeur d’Alene.

Runners competed in distances from 2,000 meters to 5,000 meters depending on age group. The top 35 runners and top 5 teams qualified for the USATF Pacific Northwest Regional Jr. Olympic XC Championship on Saturday in Eugene, Ore.

Timbers North FC 05 Boys Red: The Timbers added a tie and two wins to their RCL U15 Division 2 season record this past weekend. All three games were played at Real Life fields in Post Falls.

On Saturday morning the Timbers tied 3-3 vs. FWFC Blue. Timbers goals were by Bryce Allred (2) and Seth Johnson (1). Cooper Prohaska had an assist.

Saturday afternoon the Timbers won 8-0 vs. Whatcom FC Rangers Gold. Cooper Prohaska scored four goals, Bryce Allred and Isaac Fritts two goals each. Assists were from Luke Orozco, Bryce Allred (2), Cooper Prohaska (2) and Ashton Ukich. Miles Taylor posted the shutout in goal with 5 saves.

On Sunday afternoon the Timbers won 2-0 vs. Crossfire Yakima, on goals by Gunner Larson and Cooper Prohaska, and assists from Cooper Prohaska and Bryce Allred. Miles Taylor had five saves in the shutout.
