Huddleston, a 6-foot senior middle blocker from Coeur d’Alene High, was named Big Sky Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the second straight week after averaging 1.30 blocks and 2.30 digs per set in the Grizzlies road matches against Idaho and Eastern Washington on Nov. 7 and 8. “Missy brings it every night at 100 percent,” Montana coach Allison Lawrence said. “She plays with resilience and dominance, and her heart is so big for this program. She continues to find new levels to her game, as a senior, which is incredible leadership and an incredible legacy to leave.” Huddleton had 17 kills, 12 digs and five blocks at Eastern Washington, and recorded a double-double in both matches, finishing with 13 kills and 11 digs against Idaho. For the season, Huddleston has 220 kills for Montana (5-20, 4-10 Big Sky), which hosts Northern Arizona tonight in Missoula.

Bridget Rieken

Washington State soccer

Rieken, a 6-foot freshman defender from Lake City High, has started the last 10 matches for the Cougars (12-6-1), who host Memphis in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday in Pullman. Rieken was elevated into the starting rotation after a formation change moved Hanna Goff to a holding midfielder position.

Travis Swallow

Seattle Pacific soccer

Swallow, a junior defender from Lake City High, was named to the NCAA Academic All-District team and nominated to the Academic All-America, which will be voted on later this month. It is the second straight year Swallow has received the honor, posting a 3.98 grade point average with a major in business administration. Swallow has started all 15 matches for Seattle Pacific (5-9-1) entering today’s match at Montana State-Billings.

Camryn Wendlandt

Baylor soccer

Wendlandt, a senior forward from Lake City High, was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Division I District 7 second team, announced by the CoSIDA organization. Wendlandt earned a 3.95 GPA as a marketing major and received first-team Academic All-District honors in 2018. Wendlandt had three goals and received Academic All-Big 12 first team honors in October.

Josie Brown

Washington State cross country

Brown, a redshirt senior from Coeur d’Alene High, finished 52nd in the Pac-12 Championships on Nov. 1 in Monmouth, Ore. Washington State will host the West Regional Meet on Friday at the Colfax Golf Club.

Kelcie Hedge

Santa Clara soccer

Hedge, a redshirt senior from Post Falls, was named to the West Coast Conference second team, the conference announced on Tuesday. Hedge started all 20 matches for the Broncos (13-5-2), scoring five goals and recording eight assists this season. Santa Clara hosts California in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday.
