HOLIDAY: But not at NIC
Monday was Veterans Day and the post offices were closed. All the schools were closed in Coeur d’Alene School District, yet North Idaho College was open. I find it rather sad and upsetting that the college is not closed to observe our past, present and future veterans. I am a student at NIC and I think it’s really sad that like the other schools all around, Veterans Day they were open. I wonder why is that?
Coeur d’Alene is filled with veterans. You can’t go anywhere without someone wearing a pledge to their service to this country. I think it should be made aware that NIC is the only school open on Veterans Day. One of my math classmates is even a veteran. I think this should seriously be addressed and NIC should explain why they are the only ones open on this very important holiday.
