Give thanks, lend a hand

| November 13, 2019 12:00 AM

Generosity of spirit is just one of the more commendable human traits on display every Thanksgiving Day.

It’s our goal to connect those wishing to help with those needing help.

If your group, service club or business is putting on a free Thanksgiving feast and you could use a hand, please let us know.

Here’s just one example:

The Lake City Center needs volunteers and donations for its free Thanksgiving holiday meal, Thursday, Nov. 28, from noon to 2 p.m.

Volunteers are needed to prepare and serve food. Volunteers are also needed to deliver meals to homebound seniors. The senior center expects 1,000 people for this year’s dinner, so any and all help is appreciated.

Tax-deductible donations can be mailed or dropped off at the center at 1916 N. Lakewood Drive in Coeur d’Alene, and checks should be made payable to “LCC Thanksgiving.” To learn more call the center at 208-667-4628, or the volunteer hotline at 509-214-3254.

Do you know of a free Thanksgiving meal happening in Kootenai County this year? Please send the details to Hollyp @cdapress.com and we will publish a list of places serving meals this Thanksgiving. We’ll also help connect volunteers with opportunities.
