Edith Adele (Barker) Lambert, 89
Edith Adele (Barker) Lambert, age 89, of Coeur d’Alene, formerly a longtime resident of Delta, Colo., passed away at Ivy Court nursing home in Coeur d’Alene, on Nov. 5, 2019.
Edith was born on Jan. 24, 1930, in Littlefield, Texas, to Robert and Minta Barker. She grew up in Littlefield, where she married the love of her life, Joe Ed Lambert, in 1946. They eventually moved to Delta, where they raised their five children: Linda, Jerry, Janice, Marla and Eddie.
Edith was a dedicated and loving mother. She was very proud of her family and would light up in the company of her five children, 12 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Edith was known for her feisty, yet good-natured sense of humor. She was an active member of the United Church of God. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, fishing or working on a challenging puzzle. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Edith is survived by her sister, Mary Hewitt of Forney, Texas; daughter, Linda Nelson of Delta; son, Jerry Lambert of Coeur d’Alene and daughter, Janice Day of Coeur d’Alene.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Lambert; brother, Bobby Barker; daughter, Marla Plotner and son, Eddie Lambert.
Family and friends will gather at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, at the English Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. A reception will follow.
