Yanez, a senior tight end/linebacker, forced a Weiser fumble on a kickoff, then caught a touchdown pass moments later, part of a 14-point burst in a span of less than 20 seconds in Timberlake’s 42-33 win over the Wolverines in a state 3A football quarterfinal game at Van Tuinstra Memorial Field on Saturday. “It was a real adrenaline charge,” Timberlake coach Roy Albertson said. “He’s a great tight end, and he’s a great outside ‘backer. Yanez has made a lot of big plays for us all year, and in the tough games we’ve had to play, he was a real force.”
