TRIBES: Celebrating in obscurity

I would like to thank the Coeur d’Alene Tribe for their Nov. 2 panel discussion which included five regional tribes. These five included the Kalispell Peoples, the Colville Confederation of Tribes, the Spokane Tribe, Nez Perce and Coeur d’Alene Tribe. The one disappointment was the low turnout by both native and non-native area residents.

The history of our area is very colorful and the native peoples are an important part of this history. This was an excellent cross cultural opportunity missed by most.
