Michael Waters, 55
Michael Waters, 55
Michael (Mike) W. Waters, 55, of Osburn, Idaho, passed away Nov. 3, 2019, at home, which was his wish.
Mike was born in Mountain View, Mont., and moved to the Silver Valley at the age of 4, where he would live out the rest of his life. He was very proud to graduate as a Wallace Miner and earn a trade certificate from NIC in auto body painting. Mike played varsity football, basketball, and was also a proud participant of the 1982 high school bowl for the Wallace Miners. He also met his wife, Tracy, while attending NIC and they dated for three years before getting married on Oct. 12, 1985.
Mike and Tracy have two children, Jason and Linsay, and he was always very proud of them and all their accomplishments. He enjoyed watching their sporting events and “BSing” with their friends.
If you knew Mike, you would have known that he was a man with a very big heart. He was always willing to help out somebody, even if they were a stranger.
Mike was a part of his family business, Waters Garbage, and started working when he was in just third grade. He worked there for 46 years. Eventually, Mike and his brother, Pat, sold the business to move on with other ventures in life. Mike started working at Dave Smith Motors in the used car department as a driver in 2016. He delivered vehicles from and to Kellogg, Coeur d’Alene and Spokane. He really enjoyed all the different cars, trucks and his co-workers, with whom he became very close with and considered dear friends.
Mike enjoyed playing softball with the H2O boys, bowling, skiing, playing pool, occasional golf, camping, vacationing in Mexico and HARD rock & roll music. Mike loved taking Tracy and his kids to his rock & roll concerts. Mike was an avid NASCAR, Houston Astros and overly passionate Dallas Cowboys fan.
He often talked about traveling around and skiing with his younger brother and their friends when they were younger. These were some of his most cherished memories.
His dog, Snoot, was a big part of his life and can’t be left out of this. He was obsessed with the English Bull Terrier dog from watching BaBa Black Sheep and wanted one of those dogs since the age of 12. In 2016, he received a surprise Christmas present, and finally got his desired English Bull Terrier. Needless to say he loved her more than words can say. He thoroughly enjoyed taking her on walks and showing her off as a part of his daily routine.
Mike is survived by his wife, Tracy, of 34 years; two children, Jason and Linsay, (Sister-in-Law) Dianne Waters and children Stephanie, Jacob (Abbie and son Rowan), Jillian, (Mother-in-Law) Jean Castle, (Brother and Sister in-law) Ron & Rhonda Schacher their children, Leslie Smith (Fred and children Walker, Derek, Tori and Brooklyn), Tera King (Chris and son Levi), Greg Schacher (Stephanie and children Kambry and Brock), Jacob Schacher (Camden and children Ashton and Ruby) and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Mike was preceded in death by his father and mother, Gary and Joyce Waters, and his brother, Patrick Waters.
Service will be held at 1 p.m. Nov. 16 at the United Congressional Church of Christ in Wallace. Remembrance will be held directly after the service at the Wallace Elks.
