Heidi Anne (Wasescha) Gabrielsen, 11/25/1969 - 10/22/2019

Heidi was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Blaine (Eugene) and Anne (Ratynski) Wasescha. She lived in Hansen, Mass., Bellingham, Wash., and Sandpoint, Idaho, before getting married and spending her last 26 years in Hayden and Coeur d’Alene.

She met her husband, Darren, at the University of Idaho, where they both were studying education. They were married on Aug. 6, 1993, and they began teaching that same year. Heidi taught at Lakeland Junior High before moving to Athol Elementary. When her daughter, Heather, was born, Heidi became a full-time mom and loved that job most of all.

In 2002, her son, Levi, was born. Her children were her pride and joy.

She enjoyed being outdoors, on the lake, working in the garden, sitting by flowing water, and, most of all, she enjoyed the feeling of the warm sunshine. She was beautiful on the inside and out. She was kind, empathetic, soft-spoken, and could light up the room when she broke into a smile.

She is survived by her husband, Darren, daughter Heather, son Levi, brother Eric Wasescha and sister Juliette (Wasescha) Temperli. We will miss her dearly.

A memorial service will be held at Anthem Church in Hayden on Nov. 9, 2019, at 1 p.m.
