JIMMY'S: Thanks for everything

With very mixed feelings, my wife and I recently decided that it was time to relinquish our ownership of Jimmy’s Down The Street, the breakfast and lunch diner that we have very successfully owned and operated for the last seven-plus years.

We have thoroughly enjoyed working with and developing an amazing team of employees and are extremely sorry to leave them behind. We will miss them very much, and wish them all the very best.

We will greatly miss all of our wonderful customers, and the friendships and relationships that have been developed over the last seven-plus years. You are the reason that we kept coming back every day — we sincerely loved seeing you all happy and enthused about the meals, environment and service that our team was able to provide. Every time that we found ourselves frustrated or emotionally challenged by the “business,” all we had to do was go out and mingle with the customers to bring us back into focus on what was important … you.

From the morning “counseling” sessions with Ralph, to the always reliable veterans, to the cheerful and always-positive daily and weekend regulars — we will miss you all very much.

Gretchen and I are going to take a little time to get some much-needed rest before we begin our next adventure. We are staying in the area, so you will still see us around. You never know … you might eventually see us behind a counter again!
