Big Sky suspends

FARMINGTON, Utah — Referee Jeff Rink was suspended one game for conduct unbecoming of an official, the Big Sky Conference announced Thursday. “In the Big Sky we hold our officials to high standards, just like we do our coaches, student-athletes and administrators,” Commissioner Tom Wistrcill said. “An incident occurred during the Idaho-Cal Poly game this past weekend in which those standards were not met. Sportsmanship across the board is important to us and we will continue to strive to meet that standard.”

The Big Sky Conference said it considers this matter closed and will have no further comment.

Tillie, Elleby selected to

Wooden Award Preseason Top 50

LOS ANGELES — Gonzaga senior forward Killian Tillie and Washington State sophomore forward CJ Elleby were named to the 2020 John R. Wooden Award Preseason Top 50, announced Tuesday. The award is the most prestigious collegiate basketball honor and recognizes the nation’s most outstanding basketball player each year.

Tillie was named to the preseason list for the second straight season.

Others named to the preseason list include BYU senior forward Yoeli Childs, Saint Mary’s senior guard Jordan Ford, Oregon senior guard Payton Pritchard, Washington freshman forward Isaiah Stewart and Oregon State senior forward Tres Tinkle.
