Logan Hunt

Timberlake High

Hunt, a senior, won the state 3A boys cross country race on Saturday at the Portneuf Wellness Center in Pocatello, finishing in 15 minutes, 48.36 seconds. Hunt pulled away midway through the 3.1-mile race, becoming the second state champion in the event in school history. “The goal for him was to be patient early,” Timberlake coach Shawn Lawler said. “By the midpoint, it was obvious he was in control. Sure enough, he just looked stronger and stronger as the race went on and when he crossed the finish line, he had a big smile on his face.”
