BMC follows its customers to the prairie

Relocating the business to a more strategic location to serve its customers, BMC (Building Material & Construction services) is leaving 505 W. Kathleen to its new place at 8228 N. Huetter Road (off Prairie Avenue).

The company offers all residential and commercial building materials such as lumber, sheathing, EWP products, exterior/interior doors and millwork, siding, trusses, windows and decking.

More than 30 years old, the BMC company has 106 locations in 19 states with its headquarters in Raleigh, N.C.

Rebel Junk opening at 2424 N., Fourth

Offering one-of-a-kind finds and creations from the road and its vendors, Rebel Junk Shop will open its flagship store in the former Runge’s outlet building at 2424 N. Fourth St. The opening date will be announced at the Rebel Junk Holiday Market event Friday and Saturday at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds.

Founder Dixie DeRoucher started the business in 2012 in midtown Cd’A and has operated traveling markets with her husband, Brent, and daughters Savannah and MaKenna. They are working on the expansion of traveling markets, a new website and future locations.

North Idaho Online Auction in Post Falls

Taking consignments and selling them on the auction site, North Idaho Online Auction opens Tuesday in Tedder Properties at 4290 W. Riverbend Ave. in Post Falls.

The business will auction furniture, household items, car parts, antiques, collectibles, jewelry, coins and more, but not firearms or cars. The cost is a flat 20 percent commission with a 13 percent buyer’s premium and 3 percent discount for cash.

FirstLight Home Care opens on Ironwood

Delivering non-medical home care to people who need companionship and help at home, FirstLight Home Care has opened in Suite 4 at 916 W. Ironwood Drive.

They help adults with disabilities, those recovering from illness, injury or surgery, and those over the age of 18 who need extra assistance with many needs from errands, transportation and household tasks to individual needs such as bathing and personal hygiene.

The mission is to deliver exceptional, compassionate care so those who are served may age with comfort, dignity and independence in the place they call home. - AutoZone is building a new place at Highway 54 and Sylvan Lane in Athol.

- A new pub-eatery will open next to Vertical Earth on East Sherman.

- A Burger King is under construction at 3827 N. Ramsey (just south of Kathleen).

- Coeur d’Alene Vision Source will move from 850 Ironwood to a new building at 3879 N. Schreiber Way in December.

- A new building for Idaho Central Credit Union is under construction at 1327 W. Appleway.

- Bi-Mart will open a new store in the former Stein’s Family Foods building at 16102 N. Highway 41 in Rathdrum.

- The former Burger King building at 216 Appleway has been sold to another fast-food vendor. Rumors are it’s Carl’s Jr., which would move.

- The new Hardwick Hardware is under construction at 3820 E. Mullan in Post Falls.

- A new place on the northeast corner of U.S. 95 and Lancaster will be a Golden Glo Coffee Shop.

- Watch for an interesting development just north of the Government Way Safeway. The developers already have put in a cool water feature and evidently plans to have a coffee stand, car lot and rock shop.
