Mitchell Rietze and Wyatt Carr each scored twice. Drake Flowers, Reese Crawford, and Canon St John each scored once. Reilly Smith and Jaxon Fantozzi each had an assist. Saturday morning they defeated FC Missoula 08B Fines 5-1. Parker Sterling and Jack Jenkins each scored twice. Drake Flowers scored once. Saturday afternoon they were beaten 2-1 by Flathead Force Green 08B. The lone goal was scored by Mitchell Rietze. Goalkeepers for the tournament were Reese Crawford, Mitchell Rietze, Preston Samayoa, and Collin Storey. Coaches are Ryan Flowers and Tarragh Carr. The Timbers North defeated Surf Sorenson 5-0 in their first game on Friday evening. Scoring for TNFC were: Ari Rumpler, Bryant Donovan (2), Gavin Jones and Owen Hickok. On Saturday, they shut out the Stevenson Sabres 3-0 and Flathead SC 10-0. Scoring for TNFC against the Sabres: Gavin Jones, Trenton Anderson and Zack Cervi-Skinner. Scoring against Flathead: Benji Valov-Deming, Bryant Donovan, Gavin Jones (2), Gavin Schoener, Jaron Voeller, Rylan Beaton, Trenton Anderson and Zack Cervi-Skinner. The championship game on Sunday went into extra minutes before Timbers North was victorious 2-1 against the Sandpoint Strikers. The Thorns lost in the tournament opener to Missoula Strikers Red 2007G-CL 5-4 but went on to shut out Helena Arsenal SC Blue 2007G-CL 3-0 Saturday afternoon, advancing to the semifinals on Sunday. The Thorns beat Hells Canyon FC 07 Steele 3-1 to play in the finals against Sandpoint Strikers FC Brinkmeier, where they won 2-0 to take home gold medals. Goals during the tournament were scored by Paige Hunt (1), Libby Morrisroe (1), Lily Bole (1), Kennedy Hartzell (1), Rachel Corette (2), and Natalie Thompson (6). Timbers North FC Boys 07 Red: The Timbers played in the Bill Eisenwinter Hot Shot Tournament in Coeur d’Alene last weekend.

The Timbers lost their first game of the tournament 1-0 to Boise Timbers 07B- BR. A 4-2 win against Flathead Force Green 2007B-SE got the Timbers into the semifinals. Liam Martin scored the Timbers’ first goal of the tournament. Flathead scored next, but the Timbers pulled ahead when Martin scored again. Flathead tied things up once more before Philip Du scored for Timbers. Martin had the assist. Cody Kemp rushed the goal to score the fourth goal of the day.

The Timbers lost 3-1 to Helena Arsenal SC Blue 2007B-CL in the semifinals on Sunday. Helena scored twice before Kemp scored on a free kick.

Thorns North FC 08 Girls: The Thorns yellow team played in the annual Bill Eisenwinter Hot Shot Tournament last weekend. Adysen Robinson was in goal for TNFC. Goals scored were by Allison Carrico and Anna Ploof.

BASKETBALL

Post Falls girls camp: Post Falls High School head girls basketball coach Marc Allert heads the instructional staff for the Post Falls Lady Trojan Girls Youth Basketball Camp, for girls entering grades 2-8, is scheduled for June 10-13 from 9 a.m. to noon each day at Post Falls Middle School.

Cost is $80 per person, with family rates available.

Storm skills clinics: The North Idaho Storm boys AAU basketball team will host skills clinics starting May 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Coeur d’Alene.

Storm clinics will run through spring and summer, twice a month, 2 to 4 p.m. at the church. Current fifth- and sixth-grade boys are encouraged to attend as much as possible, as the Storm will be looking to fill any open spots on next season’s seventh-grade boys team.

There is no charge for the clinics; however, a parent must sign a waiver before their boy can participate. Waivers will be available at the clinic.

All clinics will be Sundays from 2 to 4 p.m. Trinity Lutheran Church is located at Fifth and Reid in Coeur d’Alene; the address is 812 N. Fifth St. The gym entrance is located off the rear parking lot.

Boys are asked to bring a basketball.

Clinic dates are May 19, May 26, June 9, June 23, July 21, July 28, Aug. 4 and Aug. 18.
