International Lions Club VP to speak
POST FALLS — Jung-Yul Choi, first vice president of Lions Club International, will speak to area Lions Club members on May 11 and assist with the Post Falls Club's annual Mother's Day Breakfast on May 12.
Choi, of Busan, South Korea, will discuss the future of the club under his leadership.
"We are happy to welcome Jung-Yul Choi to our community and are excited to hear his vision as he assumes the leadership of Lions Clubs International in July at our convention in Milan," said Lions Club District Gov. Lyndon Harriman. "We look forward to sharing with him all that our local Lions have accomplished in the area."
The breakfast, which is open to the community and supports Anna Schindler’s Foundation, is at the Post Falls Senior Center from 7 to 11 a.m.
The meal includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, coffee, milk and orange juice.
Mothers and children 5 and younger eat free. The cost for others is $7.
Lions Club International is the largest service club organization in the world. Its 1.4 million members in more than 46,000 clubs are serving communities in more than 200 countries.
Lions throughout the local district conduct a variety of projects and events, including a haunted house, food drives, lawnmower races, providing glasses to those in need and displaying flags for businesses.
The Post Falls Lions Club has 33 members and meets on the first, second and third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the Post Falls Senior Center. Lions clubs are groups of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.
