Todd Hudson golf tourney benefits local causes
On a beautiful fall day last October, golf was played at The Cd’A Resort Golf Course, stories were shared and funds were raised at the inaugural Todd Hudson Golf Tournament.
Hudson, an avid golfer and co-owner of Coeur d’Alene’s iconic Hudson’s Hamburgers, died in August 2017 at the age of 53.
The golf tournament was held honoring Hudson and raising funds for two things close to his heart.
One is Stories with Stewy, a local nonprofit that encourages elementary students to read, started by his close friend Kristin Cooper-Herby.
“If it weren’t for Todd’s endless support, Stories with Stewy would not be the success it is today. And the funds from the tournament continue to help it grow,” Cooper-Herby said.
Proceeds were also donated to “young golfers who are high on golf but low on funds.” Coeur d’Alene High School and Lake City High School golf programs each received $1,000.
Both schools will select two young women and two young men to participate in the Todd Hudson Golf Tournament at The Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course this fall.
