LETTERS: Tales of the absurd

| June 30, 2019 1:00 AM

Ah, the June 23 letters to the editor. Jerry Martin vilifying Joe Lykins for his opinions. Why is it some of these far-right Trump lovers feel the need to tear down their neighbors? Jerry claims it is because of two different incidents, one concerning Hillary Clinton in 2016 and the other Barack Obama in 2008. And Jerry is an avowed “Trump Deplorable.” That kind of says it all.

Then we are treated to Ron Vieselmeyer’s attempt to educate us on the Bible and elections. Will he be handing out biblical rules at every polling place? I wonder how he will manage to control those individuals of other religions or even (heavens to Betsy) no religion. It is too bad he isn’t God, because then he could smite a number of people.

So, Joe Biden accepts those who aren’t purely heterosexual. So what? To quote Ron, “you cannot deny the existence of the Holy God who created us male and female.” Well it looks as though God also created some variations.
