Lewis-Clark totals 37 runs in sweep of Northern Lakes
RATHDRUM — The visiting Lewis-Clark Twins totaled 34 hits in two games and swept the Northern Lakes Mountaineers 16-1 and 21-2 in class AA North Idaho League play Tuesday at Gorton Field.
Sean Tierney had two hits in the second game for Northern Lakes.
“We were able to get a lot of different guys into the game,” Northern Lakes coach Tony Bevacqua said. “Sean Tierney got on base in both games and did a good job. Lewis-Clark hit the ball really hard today.”
Austin Kolb drove in seven runs in the second game for Lewis-Clark (12-8, 5-1 NIL), which faces Prairie on July 3 in a doubleheader at Post Falls High starting at 3 p.m.
Northern Lakes (5-15, 0-7) travels to Medical Lake for a doubleheader Thursday starting at 5 p.m.

COEUR d’ALENE — Breyson Coppess hit a two-run home run in the third inning and Jake Brown drove in two runs as the Lumbermen rallied from a early deficit to beat Canyon Ridge of Twin Falls in the second game to complete the sweep at Thorco Field.
Coeur d’Alene won Monday’s first game 9-8.
Canyon Ridge scored five runs in the top of the third inning, taking advantage of three walks and two hit batsmen.
Trailing 5-4 after the third inning, Coeur d’Alene tied the game in the fourth on a single by Dylan Brum to score Landen Thompson and went ahead for good on a groundout to score Marcus Manzardo.
Coeur d’Alene returns to action Thursday at the Bozeman Bucks Heroes Park Invitational, in Bozeman, Mont., facing the Columbia Basin Riverdogs.
