Courtesy photo The Coeur d Alene Lumbermen 13U team returned from the Triple Crown Father's Day Slugfest as champions. They went 4-0 over the weekend in Kennewick, Wash., and scored 36 runs in the 4 games while surrendering only 11. In their first game of the tournament the 13U Lums turned a triple play against a tough NW Reign team on the way to a 2-1 victory. The game ended on a bases loaded walk-off in the bottom of the 7th inning. The Lumbermen Single-A and 14U team also won tournaments that weekend as well. 13U Lums, in the front row from left, are Logan Davis, Jake Dannenberg, Cooper Smith, Richie Hackett and Kyle Semen; and back row from left, coach Jeff Smith, AJ Currie, Paxon Bunch, Trevor Rodda, Karl Schwarzer, Nolan Christ, coach Tony Semen, Braeden Newby and manager Manny Azevedo. Courtesy photo The Timbers North FC 2005 Boys Red soccer team won an Idaho State Cup championship that earned them a berth at the US Youth Soccer Far West Regionals in Boise last week. This team and the Timbers North FC 2001/2002 Boys team were the only two teams from North Idaho to earn the opportunity to play at this level. The TTNFC 05 boys played three games at Simplot Sports Complex in Boise last week against teams from Wyoming, Nevada and New Mexico. They won one game and lost two. On Monday against Jackson Hole Youth Soccer from Wyoming (a 3-2 win for TTNFC), two goals were scored by Cooper Prohaska and Isaac Fritts had a beautiful one-touch goal. Bryce Allred had two assists and Miles Taylor had six saves as goalkeeper. On Tuesday, the Timbers lost 4-2 to a Nevada team (LVSA). Both Timbers goals were scored by Bryce Allred with one assist from Caden Thompson. The final game on Wednesday against Rio Rapids from New Mexico ended in a 4-0 loss. Coeur City Norsemen 12U 11, Missoula Muddawgs 12U 4: Clayton Kennedy went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs to lead a 20-hit attack for the Norsemen in the first game Saturday at Missoula, Mont. Harrison Evans went 3 for 4 with an RBI and two runs scored, Jack Murrell went 3 for 4 and Michael Martindale went 3 for 3 and scored twice. Wyatt Riske had two hits and scored three runs, and Isaac Rook had two hits. Evans struck out four and allowed one hit in three shutout innings.

Missoula Muddawgs 12U 9, Coeur City Norsemen 12U 6: Kolby Coey went 3 for 3 with three RBIs and two runs scored for the Norsemen in the second game at Missoula. Kolbe Coey struck out four in four innings.

Coeur City Norsemen 12U 13, Missoula Muddawgs 5: Kolbe Coey went 3 for 4 and drove in three runs for the Norsemen in the first game on Sunday. Isaac Rook was 2 for 4 with three RBIs, Grady Westlund went 3 for 4, Clayton Kennedy had two hits and Dylan Sutich allowed one earned run in five innings.

Coeur d’Alene Norsemen 12U 4, Missoula Muddawgs 3: Wyatt Riske went 4 for 4 in the second game on Sunday as the Norsemen wrapped up their regular season. Riske also struck out six and allowed one earned run in four innings.
