COEUR d’ALENE — The Riverstone Summer Concert Series, presented by the Coeur d’Alene Arts Culture Alliance, is returning to Riverstone Park from 6 to 8 Thursday evenings through the end of August.

This free, family-friendly series offers an assortment of genres from talented locals and regional bands that concert-goers might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience. Featured are some returning favorites as well as new performers from the Northwest all the way to New York City. One special Saturday concert will be held in August.

Along with the talented headliner performances, each concert will open with an up-and-coming artist, providing opportunities for valuable community exposure.

June 27 — The season opener will feature the Van Paegpeghem Quartet from southern Idaho, which embraces the unique American jazz art form. Silky vocals combined with the band’s magnetic stage presence and musicianship breathe new life into classic hits. Local singer-songwriter Melissa Jackson will open the show.

July 11 — Pacific Northwest-based Sway Wild. Formerly the Mandy Fer and Dave McGraw Band, this get-up-on-your-feet group returns with a new perspective, a new name and a new sound. Sway Wild is its own unique blend of indie-rock, folk, funk and pop, influenced by the wild things around and within. With an amazing female guitarist and skillfully written original tunes, the crowd was mesmerized enough last summer to insist Sway Wild returns. The opening act will be Eric Henderson, who has played guitar since he was 8 and is greatly influenced by John Mayer.

July 18 — North Point Jazz returns with smooth Latin jazz tunes. This local dance-inducing favorite features North Idaho College music instructor Barry Aiken playing the keyboard and Luisa Tabora on vocals in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Local musician and professional photographer Brady Campbell opens.

July 26 — Erin Hall, AKA Erin and her Cello. Hall and her band have been charming audiences with quirky, vivacious and undeniably unique performances across the East Coast. Launching their first West Coast tour in Coeur d’Alene, this songstress and her band can't be confined to one musical genre, playfully melding '50s/'60s doo wop, surf rock, jazz, funk and French pop while mixing in a bit of wit. Melissa Jackson opens.

Aug. 1 — Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre. Musical theater actors will entertain with popular and seasonal show tunes, featuring many from the musical revue show "Smokey Joe’s Café." The Weddle Twins will open with their own unique presence.

Aug. 8 — Nu Jack City, a high-energy local favorite. Recognized as a favorite dance and party band in the Inland Northwest, attendees should prepare to be moved as the band performs various musical styles and genres with Motown soul, rock, and blues. Eric Henderson opens.

Aug. 15 — Jacob Maxwell, fresh from appearing on NBC’s "The Voice." For the last two years, Maxwell has been a frequent show opener. Now, with his amazing voice and comfortable style, don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate his transition from local performer to national celebrity. Brady Campbell opens.

Aug. 17 — The special Saturday concert featuring the Coeur d’Alene Symphony promoting its upcoming Mountain Lake Music Festival and featuring the Zonky Jazz Band. The Weddle Twins open.

Aug. 22 — The Talbott Brothers from Portland. With contrasting blood-harmonies and left-handed/right-handed guitar playing, this singer-songwriting duo combines rock, blues and pop with honest storytelling. Eric Henderson opens.

Aug. 29 — Nate Botsford, an alternative rock musician from the Portland area, closes out the season. From coffee houses to main stages, Botsford has pleased audiences with his feel-good tunes and relatable lyrics. He calls upon influences of Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and his big-band pianist grandfather while crafting his music. Local country rock artist Ally Burke opens.

The James, Vernon and Weeks Riverstone Summer Concert Series will feature the Vine and Olive Eatery and Wine Bar with beer, wine and cider for sale, as well as a food truck on site. Guests are invited to bring blankets or chairs to lounge as they enjoy the music.

Riverstone Park is located at 1805 Tilford Lane, Coeur d’Alene.
