Brock Zeller shines for Prairie

POST FALLS — Brock Zeller scattered four hits in a complete game, and went 2 for 3 with three RBIs as the Prairie Cardinals beat the Northwest Blaze 10-1 in the second game of the day at the Best of the Northwest tournament on Thursday at Post Falls High.

Earlier, Prairie was held to two hits in a 14-0 loss to the Spokane Expos 19U at Post Falls High.

Zeller hit a two-run double in the second inning for Prairie against the Blaze, and Spencer Zeller added a two-run single in an eight-run fourth.

Prairie (5-14-1) is scheduled to play the Eastside Dodgers today at 10 a.m. and FM Sports at 5:30 p.m., both at Post Falls High.

COLFAX, Wash. — Jake Brown went 2 for 3 with a solo homer in the first inning for the Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen, who fell to Baden Black 18U 8-1 in their first game of the Palouse Summer Series at Colfax High.

Sam Sproule went 3 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs scored for Baden.

Coeur d’Alene (12-6-1) is scheduled to play the Kalispell Lakers today at 10:45 a.m., and the Caldwell Silver Streaks at 1 p.m., both at Bailey-Brayton Field in Pullman, as the tourney continues.
