Lee W. Ternes, 84

Lee W. Ternes, of Post Falls, Idaho, died June 13, 2019. Lee was born Jan. 24, 1935, in Elgin, N.D., to Philip and Magdalena (Hersch) Ternes.

In his younger years, Lee farmed with his father in North Dakota and enjoyed gardening throughout his life. Lee was a Golden Gloves boxer and a rodeo saddle bronc rider; he also liked going out on his boat to fish.

Lee moved to Missoula, Mont., in 1956. He worked for A.C.M. Lumber Company at Bonner, Mont. In 1972, he went to work at the Hoerner — Waldorf Pulp & Paper Mill, in Frenchtown, Mont., where he worked for 27½ years prior to his retirement in 1999.

On June 11, 1977, he married the love of his life, Dee Brenner. They lived in Frenchtown for 16 years before moving back to Dee’s hometown of Post Falls, Idaho.

Survivors include his wife at the family home; three daughters from a previous marriage; and three stepchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, one brother and two sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019, at English Funeral Chapel, 1700 N. Spokane St., Post Falls, ID 83854. A reception will be held immediately following service.
