Connie Jean Savoy (Schierman), 75

Connie Jean Savoy (Schierman) passed away on June 13, 2019, at the North Idaho Hospice House. Her life journey began on Feb. 21, 1944, in Kellogg when she was born to Ray and Orient Schierman.

She graduated as a Coeur d’Alene High School Viking in 1962. Shortly after that, she met and married the love of her life, Frank Savoy. They shared their journey as a military couple that later turned into a family, adding Patricia and Susan. They traveled all over the United States and did two overseas tours, one to Germany the second to the Panama Canal. This lead to visiting many more countries.

Connie often volunteered with the Red Cross at various Army bases. She worked as a presser at local dry cleaners.

After retirement from the service, they continued to travel and discovered boat cruises, taking their granddaughters on many adventures with them. She loved to knit and made many slippers and gave them to staff members at many doctors’ offices. She was a part of a knitting group that met on Mondays at Crochet & Knit.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Susan, and Susan’s infant son. She leaves behind her husband, Frank Savoy, of 55 years; her daughter, Patricia Welter and husband, Paul; her granddaughters, Brandi and Britni and her great-granddaughter, Pearl.

A viewing will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at English Funeral Chapel: 1700 N. Spokane St, Post Falls, ID 83854. She will be laid to rest 2:15 p.m., on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at a graveside rites service at Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 W. Espanola Road, Medical Lake, Wash.

Memorials can be made in Connie’s name to Children’s Village. It was one of her favorite charities.
