Prairie falls to 2-2 at Church tournament

LEWISTON — Brock Zeller scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the fourth inning to tie the game at 1-1 for Prairie, but a two-run double in the sixth inning was the difference as Mercedes Benz College Prep from the Seattle area beat the Cardinals 3-1 in the Dwight Church Memorial tournament at Harris Field on Saturday.

Zeller led off the bottom of the fourth with a double and moved up to third base on a stolen base. Zach Clark also singled for Prairie (4-8-1), which was held to two hits.

Cameron Smith had eight strikeouts in six innings for Mercedes Benz-Seattle.

Prairie, now 2-2 in tourney play, faces the Hanford Flames today at 10 a.m.
