IDAHO: Change isn't for better

I moved from Ohio in 1983 searching for a better life. I have enjoyed a good but simple life in North Idaho. I have always been able to make ends meet and have worked up to three jobs to feed my family. Sadly, I feel Kootenai County is changing drastically in the name of money.

I see a mass migration, flooding the area with massive subdivisions and few jobs. I see home prices being untouchable for most indigenous North Idahoans with modest incomes. I see a call for more police, fire and schools to support this migration influx and increased taxes.

What I do not see is average, long-term residents of North Idaho being represented; just the new business of selling Idaho and our simple way of life with no real benefit. Sounds like taxation without representation to me if there is no added benefit.
