Summer Theatre will return to NIC
Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre is going home, sweet home.
Executive Director Tracey Vaughan announced Thursday night that after a hiatus since 2014, productions are moving back to North Idaho College starting next summer.
“CDA Summer Theatre performed at NIC for over two decades, and we are delighted to return to them for our 2020 season,” she said. “This venue has so much to offer to our patrons and artists.”
Graydon Stanley, vice president for student services at NIC, said the reunion makes both sides happy.
“North Idaho College is so pleased to welcome Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre back to our campus,” he said. “We have a rich history of supporting the arts in North Idaho and look forward to their outstanding shows returning to the Schuler Performing Arts Center stage.”
Vaughan extended deep gratitude to the Kroc Center, which has hosted the productions since 2014.
“We have been guests of the Kroc Center for a little while, and they have been great hosts,” she said. “We absolutely love the Kroc Center and will continue a partnership with them on future projects.”
But NIC and Schuler, she said, offer too much to ignore.
“North Idaho patrons can look forward to this wonderful venue with outstanding features like flexible staging, state-of-the-art technical equipment, an orchestra pit, new seats installed this summer, ample parking by the lake, a comfortable lobby,
a variety of concessions options, and a professional quality facility throughout,” Vaughan said.
Season tickets for 2020 season are available for sale now. If patrons subscribe in June, they will receive one free ticket to a staged reading of Arsenic and Old Lace or Crimes of the Heart.
CDA Summer Theatre is offering four shows in 2020 with heavily discounted Season Tickets ($56 off regular pricing) and a three-show Flex Pass option.
