Barbara ‘Dianne’ Reeves, 76

Barbara “Dianne” Reeves passed away June 7, 2019, at Hospice of North Idaho Schneidmiller House, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, at the age of 76.

Survivors include her son, Michael (Shannon) Reeves of Knoxville, Tenn.; daughters Trish (Rob) Rooks of Smyrna, Ga., and Michele (Roderick) Pierre of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Brittany, Haley and Abby Reeves of Knoxville, and Henry Rooks of Smyrna; sisters Marilyn (Roger) Honig of Waldport, Ore., and Judy (Kevin) Kirking of Coeur d’Alene.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Faye Louise and Clarence Leonard Shartzer.

Dianne was born Sept. 6, 1942, in Flagstaff, Ariz. Raised in Flagstaff, she graduated from Flagstaff High School in 1960 and attended Arizona State College.

In 1963, Dianne moved to Santa Maria, Calif., where she met her husband, Donald Reeves. Their son and twin daughters were born in Santa Maria. In the mid 1970s the family relocated to Tennessee. While living in Johnson City, Tenn., she played guitar and sang in the musical group called “The Basics” at St. Mary’s Catholic Church for several years.

Dianne worked for various companies throughout her career, but with a heart for the outdoors, she most loved her years working for the Girl Scouts of the USA, Southern Appalachian Council. She retired in 2005 and moved to Coeur d’Alene to be near her mother.

There will be no services at this time. A family gathering will be held at a future date.
