Lansburgh leads heading into final round of Lilac

Peter Lansburgh of Elk Grove, Calif., shot a 6-under-par 66 on Saturday to take a 1-stroke lead after the third round of the 56th Lilac City Invitational at The Fairways at West Terrace outside Cheney.

Lansburgh is at 12-under 204.

Jesse Schutte of the Westin Kierland Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., shot 68 on Saturday and is at 11-under 205.

TK Kim of The Club at Spurwing in Meridian shot a 67 and is at 10-under 206, tied for third with Steve Tarkon from Red Hawk Golf Course in Nampa, who shot 69.

Russell Grove, North Idaho College men’s and women’s golf coach, who led after 36 holes, shot 72 on Saturday and is tied for fifth at 9-under 207.

Derek Bayley, the former Lakeland High and Washington State standout, who was in second place after Friday’s play, shot 74 and is tied for ninth at 6-under 210.

Billy Bomar, co-owner of Prairie Falls Golf Course in Post Falls, and Eddie Heinen of Hayden, are in a tie for 19th at 4-under 212. Bomar shot 68 on Saturday, Heinen 73.

Grove is in the second-to-last group today, scheduled to tee off at 1:10 p.m. Bayley is in the third-to-last group, slated to tee off at 1. Bomar and Heinen are in the same threesome, going off at 12:10.

The region’s only 72-hole tournament concludes today.
