Decor shop, at home, opens in former Kmart

A leading home decor superstore, at home (spelled without capitals) opened this week in the former Kmart building at 201 Neider Ave.

Based on a warehouse model, at home offers more than 50,000 on-trend home products from furniture, mirrors, rugs, art and housewares to tabletop, patio and seasonal decor. The focus is on providing the broadest assortment of products to suit every room in every style for any budget.

Hours at the local store are 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and until 9 p.m. Sundays. With almost 30 employees, the store occupies about 90,000 square feet, two thirds of the building, with a second occupant not named yet. The company has about 180 stores with its headquarters in Plano, Texas.

CDA Corner Store

opens downtown

Complete convenience store items are offered at CDA Corner Store that opened this week in the former Dingle Hardware location (where Sports Cellar was) at 402 E. Sherman.

Debbie Ward, owner of the building with her husband, Craig, described it as a “glorified” convenience store with seasonal clothing and “beach goods.” They plan to add a kitchen later with outside tables.

Hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Phone 208-930-4516. A website is planned.

The Underground Expressions business remains in the basement, and the Wards have renovated the second and third stories of the building with various size office spaces available. Phone 208-699-1999.

Velvet Hammer Boutique opening in Riverstone

With contemporary women’s and little girls’ clothing, Velvet Hammer Boutique plans to open Saturday at 2049 N. Main St. in Riverstone.

Stylists will help clients find a wardrobe specifically suited for them. The wardrobe stresses a combination of femininity and strength, firm and strong, with eloquence and grace. Girls’ choices combine playful and dressy clothing for everyday and special occasions. Owners are Krista and Michael Dickson.

The Path Hot Yoga

opens downtown

The grand opening for The Path Hot Yoga is 5-8 p.m. Friday in Suite 001 in the basement of the historic Wiggett Building at 117 N. Fourth St. (at Lakeside).

Owner Nicole Rainey and Noelle Otersen Loparco, studio manager, will offer snacks, drinks, giveaways, prizes, chair massages and the meeting and greeting of yoga instructors and wellness practitioners.
