Gerald Thomas Migota Jr., 75

Gerald Thomas Migota Jr. was born May 16, 1944, to Gerald Thomas Sr. and June Arlene (Benson) Migota, in Wallace, Idaho. He grew up in Coeur d’Alene and graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1963. Following his education, in March of 1965, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served during the Vietnam War as a military policeman and was stationed in Okinawa. Jerry attained the rank of Sergeant, then was honorably discharged in March 1967 and returned to Coeur d’Alene.

In 1974, he met Joanne Gentry. The couple was united in marriage on July 30, 1977. Their union was blessed with a son, Ty, and 42 years of marriage together. The couple lived and raised their family in Coeur d’Alene. Jerry worked for Don LaVoie Distributing as a truck driver, and later for the public schools as a school bus driver.

Jerry died at his home on Thursday, July 25, 2019, at the age of 75 years.

He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing many lakes in Idaho, Washington and Montana. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and bluegrass music. He especially enjoyed time spent with family and friends.

Jerry is lovingly remembered by his wife, Joanne of Coeur d’Alene; a son, Ty (Brenda) Migota of Seattle; and two grandchildren, Stella and Isabel. He was preceded in death by his parents.
