Emphasis patrols planned on Spokane River
Coeur d’ Alene – The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office will conduct emphasis patrols on the Spokane River this weekend, starting Friday. The patrols will focus on speed violations, wake zone violations, noise and other unsafe boating activity.
During last weekend’s emphasis patrols, officers inspected 79 boats and issued 38 citations for violations including wake zone violations, speed, overloading, no lifejackets, negligent operations, boating in a restricted area and no navigations lights.
There was reportedly one arrest for boating under the influence. No accidents were reported on the Spokane River during the weekend.
