- The Coeur d’Alene Carousel Foundation reported that 1,454 rides were enjoyed on National Carousel Day, with 450 rides in the first two hours. “It was an amazing day,” said foundation president Rita Snyder.

- The Hayden Arts Commission along with the Missoula Children’s Theatre plans a production next month of “Jack and the Beanstalk.” Students in grades 1-12 will get a chance to audition Aug. 19 with Missoula Children’s Theater staff for a variety of roles in the Aug. 24 production.
