VERIZON: Packed with community service

| July 28, 2019 1:00 AM

I have lived in Coeur d’Alene all my life and have always recognized it as a blessing. Companies and individuals show generosity in so many ways. The Verizon store at Hanley and U.S. 95 recently offered free school backpacks, packed with school supplies to any child who came to choose one. When I first read this I thought “what a great idea, they are probably all black with a Verizon logo on them.” Wow! There were 12 or more designs to choose from — lots of fun patterns and colors and they were great quality.

Lillie and Scott and the crew from Verizon not only made hundreds of children happy as the kids made their individual selections, they also donated 20 school backpacks for the school-aged children at Union Gospel Mission’s Women and Children’s Center in Coeur d’Alene. What a great gift to all of those children as they will arrive at school this fall proud and confident that they are ready for school. Thanks Verizon for another great example of generous living and giving.
