Jim and Jane Dyer

Jane Dyer, 87, was born in Sacramento, Calif., on Sept. 22, 1931, and passed away on July 4, 2019. She was the daughter of Mary and Minor Holliday and sister to Wilma Conley. She married the love of her life, Henry A. “Jim” Dyer, in 1952, and they enjoyed 66 years together.

Jane was a graduate of Sacramento High School in 1949 and attended Sacramento City College. Her years of employment at the State of California, the California Legislature and the University of California took much of her time.

She did find time to enjoy playing bridge and golf at Sunrise Golf Course, where she had many close friends. Her favorite passion was gardening.

Henry A. “Jim” Dyer, 88, was born in Butte City, Calif., on July 2, 1930, and passed away on May 7, 2019. He was the son of Henry and Elida Dyer and brother to Dorothy Beland, Barbara Deaver and Ann Dingley.

Jim was a graduate of McClatchy High School in 1948, and received his degree from Cal State University in Sacramento, in 1953. He was employed by the California State Board of Equalization for 35 years.

Fishing, golf and motor home travel took up most of his free time. In later years, he enjoyed volunteering at the Sunrise Food Closet and Sayonara Youth Center and was an active member of Sirs Branch 67. In 2012, Sirs Branch 67 merged with Branch 102 for the remainder of Jim’s association with Sirs.

Jim and Jane were longtime members of Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church and served a term as Skippers of the Silver Sloop Mariners. They traveled extensively and took many trips with Sports Leisure Vacations.

In August 2013, the Dyers moved from Crosswoods, where they resided for 38 years, to Citrus Heights Brookdale, a senior living complex, where they enjoyed a retirement lifestyle.

Jim and Jane are survived by their loving daughter, Pat Collins, and son-in-law, Jerry, who reside in Idaho, and their three granddaughters, Tess, Amy and Darcy, who are all Idaho natives. Their great-granddaughters, Finley Jane and Leni Grace, reside in Minnesota, with Darcy and Kyle Skjei. Their son, Bruce, preceded them in death at the age of 24 from a hiking accident in Southern California.

Per Jim and Jane’s requests, no services will be held.
