Coeur d’Alene is one step away from a return trip to Williamsport.
Cason Miller hit a three-run home run and earned the win on the mound as Coeur d’Alene defeated Southwest Ada of Boise 8-4 on Sunday at Croffoot Park in Hayden in the deciding game of the best-of-3 series for the state championship.
The win advances Coeur d’Alene to the Northwest Regional Aug. 4-10 in San Bernardino, Calif. Last year, a Coeur d’Alene All-Star team won the Northwest Regional and advanced to the Little League World Series for the first time.

Hudson Fizer hit a two-run double for Southwest Ada. Cam Olson added an RBI single and Colton Deatherage pitched three scoreless, hitless innings of relief.
Coeur d’Alene’s first game at the Northwest Regional will be Aug. 5 at 9 a.m. vs. the winner of the Aug. 4 game between Washington and Wyoming.
Coeur d’Alene also advanced to regionals in 2001, ’02 and ’13. Coeur d’Alene’s win Sunday marks the eighth time in the last 11 years the Idaho representative to regionals has come from the North.
