Erdmann captures Rosauers in playoff

SPOKANE — PGA professional Scott Erdmann of Oswego Lake Country Club (Lake Oswego, Ore.) birdied the first playoff hole to defeat pros Jared Lambert of Meadow Lakes Golf Course (Prineville, Ore.) and Justin Wiles of Running Y Ranch Resort (Klamath Falls, Ore.) and win the 32nd Rosauers Open Invitational on Sunday at Indian Canyon Golf Course.

Erdmann, who finished at 14 under par (69-67-63—199), captured his first Pacific Northwest PGA Section major. Lambert, who led by two strokes after 36 holes, shot 68 on Sunday, Wiles 66.

Zachary Stocker of MeadowWood Golf Course in Liberty Lake tied for 10th and took low amateur honors at 9-under 204 (70-69-65—204).

Jeff Gove of Sandpoint was 12th at 8-under 205 (72-64-69).

Billy Bomar (Prairie Falls) and amateur Reid Hatley (Hayden Lake) tied for 15th at 6-under 207. Bomar shot 73-66-68, Hatley 71-70-66. Amateur Andrew Von Lossow (Prairie Falls) was one stroke back at 5-under (69-69-70—208), and North Idaho College golf coach Russell Grove tied for 20th at 4-under (74-68-67—209).

Other locals: Jess Wingett of The Highlands (72-73-73—218), Taylor Porter of Avondale (70-72-77—219), Austin Westphal of Avondale (70-71-79—220) and amateur Chase Mitchell of Avondale (69-77-76—222).

$100,000 was raised this year from the tourney for the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, bringing the total raised to $3,000,000 in the 32 years of this championship.
