- Idaho Lottery celebrated 30 years on Friday by presenting a record $60 million dividend to Gov. Brad Little for education. For the 11th time in 12 years, and the eighth consecutive year, the Idaho Lottery’s annual sales exceeded the previous year. This year’s sales were $287.9 million.
- Claudia Brennan was named Rotarian of the Year by the Rotary Club in Coeur d'Alene. She became a member in 1993 and has served on several committees, including the Sunshine/Fellowship Committee. She has also organized the club's bell ringing participation to benefit the Salvation Army and car pools for Rotarians who can no longer drive.
- The free Coeur d'Alene Air Expo will be today and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Coeur d'Alene Airport. There will be large equipment for all ages to see. There are costs for airplane rides and to tour some aircraft.
- Kootenai County's unemployment rate in June was 3.5 percent, up from 3.4 percent in May. Idaho’s jobless rate remained at 2.8 percent, the 19th consecutive month at or below 3 percent. Nationally, the unemployment rate rose from 3.6 percent to 3.7 percent.
- Today from noon to 5 p.m. North Idaho Events will host the Bow Wow Meow Pet Expo at Silver Lake Mall in Coeur d’Alene. The pet talent show will begin at 2 p.m. and the pet fashion show will begin at 4 p.m.
