Justin Michael Redd, 23

Justin Michael Redd was born July 10, 1996, and passed away on July 16, 2019, at the age of 23, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Justin spent the first eight years of his life in Klamath Falls, Ore., with his mother, surrounded by a giant, loving family. In 2004, Justin and his mom embarked on a new journey together to Spokane, Wash., where they only knew one other family. Five months later, Justin gained a dad and a little brother.

As Justin grew, so did his love for all things fast, funny and a little wacky. He began volunteering at church at a very young age and soon proved himself to be indispensable; he learned new skills in video editing, production and sound. He was hired to be on staff at Real Life Ministries at age 14, and loved his job, his friends and learning and growing in knowledge.

Justin loved cars and going fast since he was a baby. When he took driver’s ed, he told the instructor he had been driving since he was 8 and was good to go. He saved up for his first car, a flaming red Camaro, much to his mom’s dismay, and then went on to go through eight cars in the next 5 years, until he finally settled on his dream BMW. If it wasn’t fast, he didn’t want it.

He had more jobs than most people do in a lifetime, but his favorites were being a ziplining guide, working the ski slopes, parking fast cars and filming weddings. Justin had an extraordinary amount of talent when it came to producing videos. He was a commercial drone pilot, freelance videographer and amateur photographer. He loved to make people smile, to help in any way he could and to hang out with his cousins. He also had a love for Takis, Skittles and chicken wings. He was known for his quirky sense of humor and Ron Swanson quotes.

Around the age of 19, Justin got an itch to travel the globe. He planned a monthlong trip to Laos and Thailand, again at the dismay of his mother. He had the time of his life and stayed in backpacking hostels and explored the beautiful countryside. His motto was ‘experiences are more important than possessions.’ He loved to cruise around the lake with friends in his parents’ boat, work on cars and computers, explore nature while taking pictures and photographs, and his weekly dinner with friends followed by a bonfire.

Justin’s love for life was contagious. He was a true adventurer and tried to make the most of every moment he had. He will be missed by so many, and his glowing personality will forever live on in their memories.

He was survived by his mother and stepfather, Lisa and Kevin Bunce of Post Falls; father, Steven Payne of Klamath Falls, Ore.; sisters, Jaelynn, Ellie and Maddie; brothers, Jayben and Kaiden; grandparents, Mike and Kristi Redd of Klamath Falls; Kim Redd of Crescent City, Calif.; Randy and Cely Bunce of Pomeroy, Wash.; Larry and Margie Hodgson of Apache Junction, Ariz.; James Payne of Klamath Falls; Dottie Payne of Wasilla, Alaska; great-grandmother, Sylvia Hegnes of Crescent City; aunts and uncles, Nick and Deanna Wilson of Rathdrum; John and Amanda Elliott of Kennewick, Wash.; Kris and Bob Hiatt of Klamath Falls; Vanessa Delgadillo of Klamath Falls and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2019, at North Country Chapel, 2281 W. Seltice Way, Post Falls ID 83854, with a reception to follow at the Bunce home. Flowers may be sent to North Country Chapel.
