Gena C. Lamb, 101
Sweet, generous, loving Gena C. Lamb passed away on July 8, 2019, at the age of 101, into the arms of our savior, Jesus Christ. Awaiting her arrival was her dear husband, Daniel (Mac), with whom she shared 67 years. They married in Kellogg, Idaho, where they eventually added a daughter, Elaine, and son, Dan, to their family.
Leaving Kellogg in 1950, they became proprietors of The Bungalow Grocery in Spokane, followed by the Royal Scot Motel. They eventually moved to Wenatchee, where they owned and operated Scotty’s Motel, before retiring back to Spokane.
In 1981, they moved to Post Falls, where they soon began a long, wonderful and fulfilling membership in the Good Sam Traveling Club.
Throughout her life, she always loved “playing in the dirt” with her robust flowers and vegetables, which were always appreciated. She gardened right up until her move into assisted living at age 97.
Adored by family and friends alike, Gena leaves behind her daughter, Elaine Nodes, of Post Falls; son, Dan (Judi) Lamb of Stanwood, Wash.; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by sisters, Hazel Dedic and Goldie Olsen, and brother, Lowell Smith.
Now she rests in peaceful, heavenly bliss, eagerly awaiting our reunions.
The family will be forever grateful for the many past and present caregivers who showed her much love and respect over the years.
Private family services will be held at a later date. If you were blessed by knowing Gena, please honor her memory by living as she did — by always putting others first.
