- The Coeur d’Alene City Council will hold a hearing tonight on annexation of just over 6 acres at 4176 East Potlatch. The council meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the Community Room on the lower floor of the city’s Public Library at 702 Front St.

- Author and Kellogg native Julie Weston will speak about her new book "Moonscape" at 7 p.m, Thursday, July 25, in the Community Room of the Coeur d'Alene Public Library. The book is the third in Weston's "Nellie Burns and Moonshine" series set in the Craters of the Moon area in southwest Idaho.

- The city of Spirit Lake and the Community Library Network will host Touch-a-Truck from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, at Spirit Lake Elementary. Garbage, police, fire, military and SWAT rigs will be featured. There will also be a helicopter, motorcycles and a K9 demonstration.

• The Boy Scouts of America Inland Northwest Council is hosting an event Thursday to unveil the pedestrian underpass project at Camp Easton. Supporters of Scouting, community members and friends of Camp Easton are encouraged to attend to celebrate the completion of this project and learn about projects happening to improve camp programs.
