Linda Jean Smith (Lahti), of Post Falls, unexpectedly went home to be with her Lord Jesus on July 9, 2019, due to complications from a recent diagnosis of aplastic anemia.
Linda was born to Walfred and Beatrice Lahti, on June 24, 1950, in Ashland, Wisc. Linda enjoyed her early years growing up in Saxon. In 1964, her family moved to Mullan, Idaho.
Linda met her husband, Dale Smith, at his sister Kim’s wedding in 1972. They married in 1973. Linda enjoyed living in various beautiful places in the states of Idaho, Montana and Washington as the family traveled with Dale’s job for the Northern Pacific Railroad. They have two daughters, Leah and Amy.
Linda was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother; she loved to spend time with those she loved and she made everyone around her feel special. She also liked to travel, shop, read, drink coffee on her porch, craft, bird watch and study the Bible with her dear friends.
Linda joined her dad, Walfred; brother, Bobby and stepdad, Verne in Heaven. She is survived by her beloved husband, Dale; her daughters, Leah May (with husband Scott, and children Jacob, Lily, Nathan and Sophie), Amy Fox (with husband, Aaron and grandchildren, Gabriel and Micah); her mother, Bea Niemi; her sister, Kathy Davis (and Sam), her stepbrothers, Kevin Niemi, Carl Niemi (and Colleen) and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many cherished friends.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2019, at the Morning Club, at 117 Hunter Ave., in Mullan, Idaho. A potluck and time of fellowship will directly follow the service.
